Ranger is a rescue dog of unknown age and origin. He was abused and neglected in his early life, and reacted by becoming aggressive. Today those experiences have allowed him to be completely ready to provide therapy, listening carefully to those around him.
This is Diane. I am Ranger’s therapist as he struggles to accept humans who are not cruel or out to hurt him. His growth has been amazing. In turn, Ranger counsels me on both personal relationships (I’m trying to redefine many relationships after spending nearly a half century being a totally ‘responsible’ adult woman,…… but a divorce and relocation changed that dramatically) and relationship with the environment. I raised my family on the idea that meat was at the center of the plate, for example, and side dishes were simply that. Yet animal husbandry is so horrific to both the planet, the animals themselves, and humans that I cannot sit by and continue to consume meat.
Ranger and I talk daily. He’s the best therapist I’ve ever had. We hope you’ll join our conversation.
